Stonecrest Forms Joint Venture with Noro to Purchase Pine Grove Estates in Roswell, GA

Stonecrest, along with its new JV partner, Noro, closed this morning on its purchase of the Pine Grove Estates community from Cornerstone Bank. Pine Grove is located one mile west from downtown Roswell, GA with its incredible array of shops, restaurants and night life activities.

There will only be eight Executive Series homes built in this exclusive enclave. The homes will range in price from the high $400’s to the low $500’s and all are on basements. They will range in size from 3,500 heated square feet to 4,200 heated square feet. They will have brick and stone facades and architectural shingles. Stonecrest will be debuting its new master on the main plan, the Dover, there also.

Shirley Gary with About Sales Inc. will be handling the on-site sales activities. Stonecrest will be accepting pre-sales beginning in January 2011.

Three New Starts at Harmony on the Lakes Palisades

Stonecrest has recently started building 3 new homes in their Holly Springs community, Harmony on the Lakes Palisades. They are the Arlington, the Belmont and the Churchill. These three homes make up the Executive Series and they range in size from 2,900 heated square feet to over 3,700 heated square feet as designed. Pricing starts in the low $300s. These homes are the follow up to Stonecrest’s first two starts over the summer in Harmony; both homes were successfully sold and closed in November.

Betsy Sheppard Named GAHBA Council Chair of the Year

Betsy L. Sheppard of Gilbert & Sheppard Group was named the 2010 Council Chair of the Year by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Betsy currently serves as chair of the Atlanta 50+ Housing Council where she oversees all the council’s activities, its budget and helps promote council events.

Betsy has more than 28 years of real estate marketing and advertising experience.  Her and her company have received several OBIE Awards and national awards recognizing her for her marketing expertise.

Jim Chapman Named Chairman of Atlanta 50+ Housing Council

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) announced the 2011 Atlanta 50+ Housing Council Board of Directors this week.  Jim Chapman was named Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Council and Betsy Sheppard of Gilbert & Sheppard Group was named Parliamentarian.

Stonecrest’s Efficiency Leads to Affordable Homes for Buyers

Stonecrest Homes has chosen to adopt the FAST Builder Management System to help manage their business. The FAST system is a fully integrated home builder management system. It has built-in integrated functions that handle all aspects of Project Management, Estimating, Purchasing, Scheduling, Customer Service, Job Cost Reporting, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Payroll and Financial Reports.

Stonecrest Homes’ Purchasing & Estimating Manager Nick Reuter has created their FAST System database and it is now fully operational. The implementation was started mid-April 2010 and was completed in October 2010 for all communities. The operations side of the system is “live” with the production of Purchase Orders, Change Orders, Sales Pricing and Scheduling. The accounting side of the system is also now “live” with Check Writing and Financial Reporting. The system is set to generate Stonecrest’s balance sheet, income statement and indirect cost reports on a monthly and quarterly basis as needed.
