Stonecrest Closes 1st Home at McIntosh Place and Plans Additional Start in December

Stonecrest Homes announced this week that it has closed on its first home at McIntosh Place. Stonecrest is currently offering the Estate Series of homes at McIntosh Place that feature floor plans ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2 to 3.5 baths.

Due to the demand for their “affordable homes of distinction,” Stonecrest plans to start an additional home next month at McIntosh Place.

Stonecrest Wins First OBIE from GAHBA at McIntosh Place

Stonecrest Homes’ first community, McIntosh Place, won its first OBIE Award from the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association last Saturday night. The OBIEs celebrate excellence in the local Atlanta homebuilding industry. For builders building 1-99 homes per year and in the $200,000 – $289,0000 detached category, Stonecrest’s model home, a Cheswicke, earned a Silver OBIE Award.

“We could not be prouder of winning our first OBIE Award at Stonecrest Homes,” said Jim Chapman, CFO and Co-Owner. “A special thank you goes out to Peggy Slappey and Julie Slappey for promoting us to win this award. You guys are the best!”

Stonecrest at McIntosh Place Looking Forward to First Closing

Stonecrest Homes at McIntosh Place is putting the final touches on Lot 55, a Cheswicke plan featuring 4 bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms. This new home is slated to close on Friday the 19th of November. This will be Stonecrest’s first closing at McIntosh Place and its first closing being represented by Paulette Alves with About Sales, Inc.

Gwinnett County Public Schools Win Nation’s Largest Education Award

Gwinnett County Public Schools were revealed as the winner of the Broad Prize for Urban Education. This means that the school system will receive $1 million in scholarships for seniors graduating this year. The district is the ninth in the nation, and the first in Georgia to receive this award. At the ceremony in New York City on Tuesday, Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretaryof Education, announced the winner.

“Gwinnett County has demonstrated that an unwavering focus across a school system — by every member of the district and the community — can lead to steady student improvement and achievement,” Duncan said. “Districts across the country should look to Gwinnett County as an example of what is possible when adults put their interests aside and focus on students.”

May 29, 2010. The Cheswicke model home at McIntosh Place is decorated and open for business!

The completion of our model home represents a 72 day building cycle. While we’re proud of that, the cycle should shrink to around 60 days as we go forward with other homes.

March 17, 2010. Stonecrest Homes broke ground this week on the five houses at McIntosh Place in Gwinnett County. Keith Healy will oversee the building the homes and John Slappey with Peggy Slappey Properties is overseeing the on-site sales.
